Category: accessible Devices
Hey so I am thinking of trading my friend phones. She has the HTC ozone and I have the NV3. She doesn't like the keyboard, and I don't know if I will either but I hopefully will get to look at 1 soon and find out. I also don't know about getting the data plan... IDK if I'd use that. The pros of doing this would be that i would have a fully accessible phone and not have to pay for the phone or talks, but is it really worth it? My parents are still paying for my plan. I think it would be around $80 a month with the data plan (for the moment I'm on my cousin's plan using his second line.) Help please I just need other's input and my friend needs to know by Thursday..
Thanks
i don't exactly like the ozone myself, and you'd have to get the data plan regardless, it's part of how the phone is, the plan anyways. never seen the ozone i don't know what it looks like just heard bad things about how it's slow and stuff
Yeah I just read the other board topic on the ozone w/ talks and it seems like ppl hate it. lol
I also don't want to get the data plan until I have my own Cell plan...
problem is if you want a phone that can run ms or talks well you'll need a smartphone, which means data.
Oh I don't know. I don't recall anything about a Data Plan and I'm using a Smartphone with Mobile Speak at the moment. Of course at the first opportunity I'm switching over to the IPhone since to be quite frank I hate my current phone with a passion since it likes to lock up on me on a regular basis, not to mention the fact that it has a tendency both to drop calls and also to not alert me when calls come in or even show records that they've done so. The only indication I get is if the person chooses to leave a message on my voicemail, and the VOicemail system AT&T uses doesn't tell you what time a message comes in or, at least, it doesn't on my current phone. I seem to recall it used to on my Nokia 6682 though. But like I said the phone I have now will sometimes not even ring but go straight to voicemail even while the phone is on and not in use. On top of that when it does this it won't even make a record of the call just received. I remember one day it did this three times in a row, all three of which turned out to be important calls.
yeah the ozone with talks can be sluggish, however the advantages of having a fully accessible phone are nice i must say... and remember the data plan doesn't just cover using the web browser but using apps like twitter and facebook aps from the phone among tons other apps out there. u could even use something like WM WiFI router to share the phones data plan with your laptop when away from a reliable WiFi source on the go. You are already used to using a full QWERTY keyboard if you are using the one on the EnV and it will just ake a little getting used to using the one on the ozone... so if you wan tto be able to do just about everything on the phone yourself and have the ability to review messages and read text line by line or word by word and see who the message is from even if u missed the initial announcement and all those things yu can't do with the EnV then go for it. It would work better with Mobile Speak can't speak for how bad it is with talks but people i know that used it with talks ending up just buying mobile speak for it.
I'm still not sure. I would looove to have a fully accessible phone, but I have 1 more year on the NV, and am thinking about just waiting till this phone is up to get one... IDK I'll talk more to my friend and see...
